LOCAL AUTHORITY COUNCIL EVENTS

European Championships
At the invitation of North Lanarkshire Council, Continental Marketplace was fortunate to be involved in the 2018 European Championships.

Strathclyde Park was the venue to host world-class rowing and triathlon competitions over two weekends, alongside Go Live! In The Park which offered free family activities.

The international events showcased 600 of Europe’s best rowers and 160 top triathletes.

It was an honour for Continental Marketplace to be tasked with feeding the athletes as well as catering or visitors to the Fanzone area in the Park.

Staff had to be carefully vetted and a number of mobile food outlets supplied offering a variety of street food and gourmet options.

Continental Marketplace has year on year successfully been part of North and South Lanarkshire Council's Fireworks Display held in November at Strathclyde Country Park.

Free to attend, this annual event attracts hundreds of people from beyond Lanarkshire. In a build up to the fireworks display, the event includes an extravaganza of music and entertainment.

Central to this is the Funfair which Continental Marketplace delivers each year and kicks off the evening's entertainment opening to the public late afternoon.

The business also provides a number of mobile food outlets for the popular event with experienced staff able to cope with busy visitor numbers.

LARGE EVENTS

Managing large scale events requires detailed pre-planning and risk assessment to ensure a smooth operation and an event that is delivered on budget and on time.

Both our events and technical teams work closely to successfully project manage all our events. 

Good communication is also essential to ensure clients' have a thorough understanding of the project at any time. 

We have built up an enviable reputation for delivering events that attract thousands of people each day over a number of days.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS

Christmas is our speciality and has been central to our business since we began.

Each year our team considers new themes, and experiences, that will create that special magical seasonal feeling appealing to Big Kids and Wee Kids alike!

We build specially crafted wooden chalets, illuminated and powered if needed, that can be easily transported and set up for festive events. 

From festive markets to event management, we are highly skilled in creating bespoke and memorable Christmas attractions for our clients to suit their needs and scale of event.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Continental Marketplace recognises its responsibility and is fully compliant with all relevant legislation. 

The business is committed to minimising the impact of its operations by reducing the amount of waste produced and recycling where possible. 

All food waste is recycled including cooking oil which is converted into biofuel.

The company works closely with environmental advisers and regulators to continually improve its environmental credentials.

CERTIFICATION & FOOD SAFETY

Governance and mitigating risk is important to us. All our staff and the traders we work with are fully compliant with food hygiene certifications including HACCP.
